Move over reading and writing, when it comes to school the best (and most fun) subject is RACING!
There is no better place to learn about karting or improve your driving skills than PGP's race schools, and very soon we're going to double our school hours. Whatever your age, 5 to 75+, or skill level, PGP will tailor an instructional package to improve your abilities.
Starting May 1, PGP will be adding a Wednesday night school timeslot in addition to our already popular Sunday morning race school sessions at 8, 9, and 11 a.m. Wednesday night sessions can be booked for 5, 6 or 7 p.m. Both Wednesday and Sunday sessions are by appointment only, so please call a few days in advance to get your racer on the schedule.
Also, PGP would like to add a Junior Rental Kart League Racing series this summer for race school graduates from 12-15. If your racer is interested, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
Race School courses include (see this website for more details, costs and registration forms):
This fun one-hour class is an introduction to racing for young drivers eager to get in the seat and race at a pace that they are individually comfortable at. This is not a racing class, but a course to give the kids knowledge on the safety and rules of driving on a big track in karts that go approximate 25 mph. The focus is on driving safety, flags, rules, racing etiquette, and basic driving technique.
This one-hour course is a pre-requisite for any driver in this age group who wishes to participate in the Arrive and Drive Sessions. This age group will race in the Cadet Karts which have a top speed of approximately 35 mph. Focusing on driving safety, flags, rules, racing etiquette, and basic driving technique, the class includes basic kart control exercises and includes on-track driving sessions.
With the same focus as Cadet Racer, this one-hour course is a pre-requisite for any driver in this age group who wishes to participate in the Arrive and Drive Sessions.
This two-hour class covers kart basics, general instruction, how to "read" the track and racing lines, with an emphasis on smooth driving. In addition to classroom instruction, students walk the track and participate in three on-track driving sessions.
This two-hour class is for those who have completed the Beginning/Intermediate class and want to continue building on those lessons. Emphasis will be placed on smooth driving techniques, braking, all the tools you will need to stand on the podium.
