On the heels of our largest RKLR series debut ever, PGP is pleased to announce the addition of the all new "Amateur Sunday Series" to our popular RKLR lineup. In response to waiting list for the novice class at last Saturday's series opener growing well into the double digits, we have taken steps to increase the number of available seats for competitive rental kart racing.
The Saturday dates for the RKLR Summer series will remain unchanged with the only change to the popular Saturday morning program being the renaming of the categories to reflect the new series structure. The former "Novice" category will become "Pro-Am" and the former "Expert" category will become "Pro".
Eight Sunday mornings throughout the summer will now host the "Amateur" RKLR category. This category is aimed at providing entry level racing events for drivers looking to get involved in competitive racing at PGP. The race events will be held in the same format as our "Pro-Am" and "Pro" series, with each racer receiving a timed practice, qualifying, heat race and final race. Sign in opens at 8:00am and closes at 8:30am sharp. Drivers meeting starts at 8:40am and the on-track action begins at 9:00am. The "Amateur" category is open to any first time racers 15 years or older or any former "Novice" category competitors that have not recorded a podium finish in any of our previous RKLR events. The winner of each "Amateur" series race will receive a fully-paid entry into the following RKLR "Pro-Am" event. The cost for these race events will be the same as the standard RKLR pricing at $85 for members and $95 for non-members. Spots are limited to the first 20 racers pre-registered for each event. Racers can register via phone at 253-639-7223.
