PGP’s Amateur Kart Racing is an organized race event run on Sunday morning’s specifically for beginning and novice drivers with little or no previous racing experience. As the foundation of our ladder system of organized racing, the focus on these events are to increase drivers knowledge of organized go kart racing rules and improve driving skills while having a great time. The Amateur category is open to any first time racers 15 years or older or any former “Novice” league racing competitors that have not recorded a podium finish in any of our previous league racing events.

The drivers’ race day will include a Practice/Qualifying Session, Two Heat Races and Final race. All drivers will advance to the Final Event. Trophies are awarded each race to the top 3 finishers with an awards podium celebration. The winner of each  Amateur series race will receive a fully-paid entry into the next weeks Saturday league “Pro-Am” event! There are no championship standings so that every week there are likely new hero’s standing on top of the step of the podium!

Our Amateur Kart Racing series generally runs every other Sunday morning, please check our events calendar for the most up to date schedule. Due to the high demand of the Amateur Kart Racing events, pre-registration is strongly encouraged to reserve your kart. You may also register the morning of the race before 8:30am, but day-of event entries cannot be guaranteed. Each event will start with a Driver’s Meeting at 8:45am and racing begins promptly at 9:00am. Entry fees are $85.00 per event with membership ($95.00 per event for non-members). Note: Minimum age is 15yrs. for all league racing.

Saturday Morning’s, our popular Rental Kart League Racing makes the perfect progression from drop-in open session racing to organized, competitive, gridded up racing. This is your opportunity to get in on the fun and excitement of affordable, thrilling go karting competition at an affordable cost! All Rental Kart League Racing events  are open to the public and no previous racing experience is required, nor is a track competitive license required to race in these events. We provide the karts, fuel, tires, helmets, driving suits (rain gear, if needed) and fabulous racing venue. You just show up on the morning of the event ready to race! Come to all races or pick and choose those you can make it to. With PGP’s league racing there is no commitment required to race the entire series, but once you’ve tried it you may be hooked!

The first session of each event will be a Practice/Qualifying which will determine starting positions for the heat race based on fastest lap of the session. The second and third sessions will be a wheel to wheel heat races for position. The finishing order for the heat races will set the grid for the event final. All drivers will advance to the final race of the day to determine the victor for the day’s event.

In any race event deemed to be a wet weather race, all competitors will be awarded an extra 50 points towards their season point total.

Classes are divided into two divisions: Pro-Am and Pro. Our race officials are happy to assist with determining the appropriate division for you based on lap times and experience. Drivers who are new to the sport or have minimal experience in an organized race should consider our Sunday morning Amateur Kart Racing. Trophies are awarded each race to the top 3 in each class. Championship awards will be presented at the end of each series to the top 3 in each class, who have attended a minimum number of races in that series.

You may have what it takes to put down a fast lap in one of PGP Motorsports Park’s Birel rental karts, but can you do it lap after lap after lap?

Those that want to find out should grab a couple friends, or come on their own, and head to the Northwest’s premier multi-purpose motorsports facility for Rental Kart Endurance Racing at PGP.

Teams can consist of one, two or three drivers at a minimum age of 15, with single-person teams getting a special IronMan/Woman registration rate.

Rental Kart Endurance Racing events will include ballast weights to be used to meet minimum weight requirements, closing the gaps between the lighter and heavy drivers.

The field will once again be split between the IronMan Class (single driver), and the Team Class (2-3 drivers), each competing for the overall, and class victory during the 90-minute event.

Rental Kart Endurance racing is the perfect opportunity to come out and enjoy the super-friendly competition, strategy, and teamwork that go into one of these endurance events.

PGP Rental Kart Endurance Racing will consist of a practice session followed by a straight through 90 minute race using the full .82-mile track.  To bring a little strategy into the mix two- 90 second pit stops will be required with competitors switching to different karts at each stop. Kart assignments and starting positions will be made based on a random draw.

Due to the high demand of these races, pre-registration is strongly encouraged to reserve your kart. You may also register the morning of the race before 8:30am, but entries are limited. Each event will start with a mandatory Driver’s Meeting at 8:45am and racing begins promptly at 9:00am. Cost per person is based on number of drivers on the team:

  • Three-person team driver: $50 member, $60 non-member
  • Two-person team driver: $75 member, $85 non-member
  • One-person IronMan/Woman: $125 member, $135 non-member
Endurance Racing events are rain or shine and are open to the public with no prior racing experience required. Just show up ready to experience the thrill of racing at PGP!

The PGP Junior Series is open to any young drivers between the ages of 11-15 years old (4’11” Height Min), that have completed a “Junior Racer” course at PGP.  Racers will compete in our fleet of full sized Birel N35 rental kart

The racing will mirror our popular Rental Kart Racing League format with each racer receiving four sessions on track.  The first session is a Practice/Qualifying which will determine starting positions for the first Heat race based on fastest lap of the session. The second and third sessions will be wheel to wheel Heat races for position. Drivers finishing position in the first heat will set their starting spot for the second heat. The finishing order for the second heat will set the gird for the event final, giving drivers more opportunity to work their skills into a better grid position for the final event.

Drivers in the PGP Heavy Series will compete at a minimum race weight of 250lbs for drivers in this series This will allow our bigger and taller drivers to showcase their talents at a greater level of weight parity. Drivers of lighter weight are, of course, welcome but will be required to add ballast to achieve the 250lbs minimum weight.  Racers will compete in our fleet of full sized Birel N35 rental karts.
